First ever Colleagues on Tap Office Xmas Party was a real cracker!

20th December 2012

It's great working for yourself. That's a fact.  'Going it alone' means freedom, flexibility and of course plenty of fun, but as we've discovered through Colleagues on Tap a few people around you now and again can help to make running a business much more fun;  working for yourself doesn't have to mean working *by* yourself!

So what about Christmas?  The Office Xmas Party has, traditionally, been the annual event that marks the end of the working year, and provides a well-earned thank you from a company to its employees for a good well done.  So what if you run your own business; what then?

Colleagues on Tap Office Xmas Party 19.12.12

Well now we have the answer!  50 business owners from across the region, from Northumberland to Teesside, joined together at Newcastle Business Village at Clavering House on 19th December 2012 for the first ever Colleagues on Tap Office Xmas Party.  The event was a sell-out, proving it's the perfect way for business owners to celebrate the festivities, and to congratulate each other (and themselves!) for a good job done.

The buzz of the crowd quickly gathered in the Office Club Hub.   Party-goers shared not only the food and drinks on offer, courtesy of our sponsors Xero Accountancy Software, and supporting sponsors MyPhoneBuddy and Made To Treasure (who decked out the hub fittingly for the occasion); they also shared the knowledge that working together is much more productive (and fun!) than going it alone. Most, if not all of the party guest, pledged to engage in co-working during 2013, and Colleagues on Tap co-working days provide the perfect opportunity to do that!

    'A BRILLIANT RESOURCE'

    Peter Berrie, Corporate Business Manager

I have found Space on Tap to be a brilliant resource when I want to arrange an offsite meeting for my team.
It’s a “one stop shop” for finding both high quality and interesting places to hold business or indeed social events.  I have discovered a number of convenient venues that I simply didn’t know offered their rooms for private events.
No longer do I need to “Google” for hours on end to find the local space I need – I simply turn to Space on Tap instead.
I have found Space on Tap people to be very approachable and keen to help as well.
